NEW MACROS! So if you haven't seen my last two posts, I had a high fat low carb diet for the first two weeks of my cut and now I have low fat, high carb, medium protein. (45F, 250C, 125P) My calories are also dropping by 200c as well but I haven't really noticed that too much because I have more carbs and so I'm eating more frequently. I am finding it difficult to stay at the low fat because I can't have my avocados and almonds like I wish I could, but I have been eating a lot of other low fat foods that I've been enjoying. So far I have lost just over 3 and a half pounds from where I started so I am right on schedule of where I want to be come show day!

I think the key to really sticking to a diet is to enjoy the foods that you are eating. If you don't like salads, don't eat them! If you hate grilled chicken, there is plenty of other protein sources out there to choose from. Flexible dieting is all about enjoying foods in moderation and finding healthy alternatives to some of your favorite indulgences. Lately, some of my favorite meals have been shrimp and rice because it is super high protein, low fat and quick to prepare, and Greek yogurt with fresh fruit!

On top of having 250 carbs in my daily diet now, I also have restricted sugar levels. I think this is just so that I don't eat a whole box of Enlightened ice cream bars in one day, but I think that should definitely be allowed! By the way if you have tried Enlightened ice cream it is my new favorite healthy option for deserts, the frozen hot chocolate is the BEST! So my sugar is currently restricted to below 45g per day but not including fruit with adequate fiber to balance out the sugar. My best suggestion when restricting sugar is to fill your meals with plenty of complex carbs (beans, rice, potatoes, whole grains) and save a little bit of sugar for the end of the day so you can have some desert when all those bedtime craving set in.

So far I don't have any complaints about how this prep is going. I am very happy I haven't ran into any huge obstacles or plateaus yet. thank you as always for following along with me on this journey.
